What Is IV Therapy?
IV therapy uses intravenous delivery to transfer nutrients directly into a patient’s bloodstream. This is ideal for cases when immediate direct delivery is preferable to the gradual delivery experienced with food and drink intake or supplement intake. IV therapy is a more effective method of nutrient delivery than these gradual methods; it ensures 100% absorption, whereas the other methods only offer 20% absorption. Patients with certain medical conditions or medications also have difficulty absorbing vitamins. Many different cocktails of IV vitamins are available, each containing a specific combination of amino acids, vitamins, and minerals. Each cocktail achieves different results to address the patient’s specific needs. The right cocktail for you will be determined during your consultation at Vitalyc Medspa. Patients who suffer from kidney diseases or high blood pressure may not be ideal candidates for this treatment option. Any vitamin allergies should be discussed with us during your consultation.

The Benefits of IV Therapy
Intravenous vitamin therapy offers relief from anxiety, fatigue, stress, depression, hangovers, flu symptoms, and even jet lag. It can provide a boost in energy, healthier skin, better hydration, and more. To help filter out toxins and resolve signs of the aging process, this treatment option delivers a boost in antioxidants. IV therapy also helps those suffering from health issues like fibromyalgia, hypertension, asthma, cancer, and COPD.
What to Expect During IV Treatment Sessions
B12 Shots
Along with IV therapy, Vitalyc Medspa also offers B12 injections. Vitamin B12 deficiencies can cause issues such as fatigue, weakness, depression, and memory loss. With B12 shots, we can quickly restore the body’s required level of vitamin B12 to address these problems. B12 injections help the body make new red blood cells, improve your immune system, raise energy levels, boost metabolism for weight loss, improve mood, and much more. They are quite safe and are often essential for improvement of quality of life. We also pair IV hydration with many of our skin-resurfacing treatments like Halo and RF microneedling. Hydration is a key component to healing and will help speed up your recovery time.
What is NAD+?
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) is a naturally-occurring B-vitamin derivative of Niacin that is vital to hundreds of metabolic functions, including the generation of cellular energy. Levels of NAD decline as we age, and deficiencies can trigger metabolic and degenerative diseases, including cognitive diseases. NAD+ plays a major role in protecting against aging factors. NAD+ mitigates chemical stress, inflammation, DNA damage and failing mitochondria while promoting cellular benefits associated with caloric restriction and exercise. Found in virtually all living cells, NAD is essential to sustaining life. Restoring NAD+ has increasingly been viewed as an innovative way to promote longevity and slow down cellular aging.
Benefits of NAD+
Anti-Aging
NAD+ replenishes and repairs DNA, protecting brain cells from damage, decreasing inflammation, and signal the use enzymes to help prevent aging effects. This can play an important role in preventing complications such as gastric issues, atherosclerosis and other inflammatory conditions. Sufficient intracellular NAD+ is necessary for youthful cellular energy, a critical factor in maintaining defenses against infections and autoimmune disease.
Energy Boost
NAD+ aids in the rebuilding of muscle, improving overall health, muscle function, physical appearance, and quality of life.
Brain-Restoration
NAD+ replenishes the supply of neurotransmitters to enhance cognitive functioning, diminish brain fog and restore cells throughout the body.
Improved Sleep Patterns
NAD+ plays an integral role in regulating circadian rhythms and metabolism.
How to Boost NAD+
NAD is biologically unstable, which makes it unreliable for oral supplementation. Fortunately, there’s a solution… Based on a recent data and medical research, NAD+ is best delivered via intravenous (IV) infusion. A loading dose of 5 infusions as close as possible (weekly is recommended) to replenish the NAD+ levels in the body. Once this loading period is over then patients should routinely have maintenance infusions every 6-8 weeks. For best results, Vitalyc recommends administering in conjunction with vitamin B12, B-complex, vitamin C and glutathione in order to maximize the effectiveness of the treatments.
What to expect during the infusion
A brief assessment will be conducted on the day of treatment by one of our providers. A small IV will be inserted after determining the proper dosages for you. Infusion time varies (usually between 1-2 hours) based on the dosage and tolerability of the person. The side effects of treatment are minimal and appear related to the rate at which the NAD+ is administered. At a faster rate, patients may experience slight upper torso pressure, abdominal cramping and/or lower leg soreness, increased muscle excitability. Flushing, mild nausea and a slight headache may also occur. If these symptoms do occur, they typically disappear within 15-30 seconds of decreasing the rate of infusion. No long term adverse events or events requiring hospitalizations related to NAD+ infusions have been reported. Patients are able to watch television, meditate or work on their devices while receiving their infusion.
What to expect after the NAD+ treatment
Our patients report to feel mentally sharper and able to concentrate longer immediately following treatment. Many report that they are more energized and are less anxious. Not only are they feeling great, but they are looking great with changes to their skin and muscle tone with long term treatment.
